Funeral Director Captures Ghost?
Mr Christopher Terry is a funeral director based in Eccles, Greater Manchester. He believes that he has captured a ghostly apparition on his mobile phone camera.
OPuck had the pleasure of speaking with Mr Terry and here we share with you...

The mysterious figure who appeared in a photo.
Mr Terry says the ghost is wearing jeans and facing away from the camera with his head slightly bowed.
OPuck - Hello Mr Terry, thank you for your time. OPuck is intrigued by your story...
Why was the photograph taken?
Mr Terry - I had some plain curtains up in the funeral home I had just decorated, my wife and I decided to replace them with a patterned pair.
My wife asked me to take a picture of the curtains before I left so she could see what they looked like.
I took three pictures on my mobile phone. The ghost photograph was the third one I took.
OPuck - Did you have a gut instinct at the time that something
ghostly may be captured?
Mr Terry - No! Definately not. I just took the photos for my wife.
OPuck - Do you believe in life after death?
Mr Terry - Yes - I do.
OPuck - So you believe in Ghosts?
Mr Terry - No , I didn't before I took the photograph.
OPuck - Would you say that you are sensitive to a spirit presence?
Mr Terry - No! No... the only thing I noticed was the room started to go very cold before the picture was taken. It's always a warm room.
OPuck - How did you feel after you had took the photo?
Mr Terry - Oh it really shook me up after I had took it because I knew exactly what it was. I left early that day, [laughs] I went home.
I was a bit apprehensive about talking about this in case it frightened people away.
OPuck - I think a lot more people are open to the idea of ghosts than they were some years back, don't you think?
Mr Terry - [pause] Yeah...yes.
OPuck - Do you think your job as a funeral director influences your view of a 'spirit world'?
Mr Terry - Well I've never seen anything like it before. I've been doing this job for twenty years. I have never heard or seen anything. So I don't think my job influences my view. I do know that the building is over 100 years old. I don't think it's a spirit of a person that I have brought here. I believe your spirit leaves you as soon as you die.
OPuck - Do you think it will effect how you do your job now?
Mr Terry - No! Definately not.
OPuck - Do you think you will continue to take photos in hope of catching another ghost?
Mr Terry - Yeah, I will continue!
OPuck - Have you ever been on a paranormal investigation?
Mr Terry - NO.
OPuck - Do your family believe in ghosts?
Mr Terry - [Laughs] No.
OPuck - Mr Terry, you appear to be a very down to earth kind of man, speaking very matter of fact about this ghostly apparition?
Mr Terry - Yes, I am. I am saying exactly what happened. I would not make this up. Everyone who see's this photograph believes it to be a ghost. I did an interview for Channel M yesterday and they were really chuffed about it.
OPuck - Mr Terry, thank you so much for sharing your interesting story and photo.
A Believer's View...
Mr Terry has described classic signs of a spirit manifestation with a photograph as proof.
A noticeable temperature drop prior to a photograph being taken is a common occurrence due to spirit activity.
A Sceptics View...
OPuck's Sceptics have considered the use of a mobile phone camera - Image stabilisation accuracy, backlight compensation, light reflection, frame rate and inexpensive image sensors are known to contribute to poor camera phone picture taking.
Poor quality photo + *Pareidolia effect = Ghost Photo? What do YOU think?
*Pareidolia effect - when a vague or random image is perceived as recognisable. Example: seeing animals or faces in clouds. With thanks to...
