Born 1935, I was by the age of 5 or 6 an atheist! I knew that this imaginary God I was being taught to believe in would not save me if one of Hitler's bombs dropped on our house. By total religious immersion and stories from the pulpit I was by my teens a 'Hot Gospeler' It was to be many years before I could pinpoint the schism.

1957 found me in a Forces posting taking action against Eoka terrorists. Away from family and peer pressure I started to think for myself again and for the second time in my life questioning the very existence of God.

After demob I remained a Christian by default and pursued my life as any other. I was beginning to realise though, that at times in my life when I desperately cried for help there was non forthcoming. Life became very dark and meaningless.

In 1980, close to a nervous breakdown, I finally threw every belief I had overboard. I was ready to kick life in the teeth! My depression lifted and I stood straight again, I was ready to start over.

What has all this to do with Ghost Hunting? 
I see Ghost Hunting as another facet of the quest for knowledge, it transverses boundaries between fact and fiction.
The search for the truth of what is becomes an exciting and rewarding path to walk. An answer found will raise more questions than answers, this is the pathway of knowledge. Once having started your quest never be afraid to take a step back or a rest from it, both are necessary from time to time.

My journey started with Matthew Manning, with a tape titled ' A new approach to healing'. His no nonsense scientifically flavoured approach fired up my thirst for knowledge. More tapes and books just fell into my lap, 'seek and ye shall find' was never so true!

A Harry Edwards book led me to join the Spiritualist Church and as my awareness and sensitivity increased I began to discern the truth from the not true. We must always test new knowledge, trust our own judgement and look within for answers.

Both mental and physical mediumship exists. The 'power hungry' would seek to discredit them and those with vested interests, use them for their own ends. Searcher Caveat!  

Who or what did Mary Magdalene see at the entrance of the tomb? Why did early artists paint a halo around the heads of saints? (I have physically felt an aura I could not see!) You can see through glass but cannot walk through it, so does a ghost walking through a wall really seem so strange?

To my mind the whirling electrons of an atom and the swirling stars of a galaxy billions of light years away bear the same stamp of existence. We are all made of the same atoms and so, are a part of each other and of the universe. (Think about it).
Why not try absent or distant healing from the quiet of your home and see if you can find the link?
